Where will your academic journey begin?
At TAIE International Institute, we believe that some of the most valuable learning experiences happen beyond the classroom walls. Recently, our students traveled to Ontario’s renowned Waterloo Region for an immersive university tour, gaining firsthand insight into campus life, academic culture, and future career opportunities.
Our journey began at Wilfrid Laurier University, where students experienced the university’s vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the visit was an interactive “Marshmallow Challenge” led by a business professor. Using only spaghetti, tape, and marshmallows, students worked in teams to build the tallest possible structure. While the activity seemed simple at first, it quickly became a powerful lesson in communication, adaptability, and collaboration.
Students discovered that successful teamwork is not just about having one perfect strategy — it’s about constantly adjusting, sharing ideas, and solving problems together in real time.
Beyond the classroom activity, students toured Laurier’s beautiful campus, learned about unique campus traditions, and had the opportunity to connect directly with admissions staff to better understand university life and application pathways.
Next, we visited the world-renowned University of Waterloo, widely recognized for innovation, research, and experiential learning.
Students explored Waterloo’s famous Co-op program facilities and learned how alternating academic study with professional work placements helps graduates gain invaluable real-world experience before entering the workforce.
The visit also allowed students to dive deeper into different academic fields:
Future scientists explored fossil and nanotechnology laboratories
Aspiring business leaders participated in an exciting stock market simulation
Students gained insight into how innovation and hands-on learning shape Waterloo’s academic environment
Through these experiences, students were able to visualize what studying at a top Canadian university truly feels like.
At TAIE, we are committed to helping students confidently prepare for their future. These immersive university visits are designed to inspire students, broaden their perspectives, and help them make informed decisions about their academic journeys.
By connecting students directly with Canada’s leading institutions, we aim to build a strong bridge between high school learning and future success at elite universities.
Because at TAIE, education is not only about preparing for university — it’s about preparing for life.
