Downtown living within a tight-knit community
Student life at TAIE is unparalleled by other boarding schools in the downtown Toronto area. We take great pride in the fact that we provide students with a large array of after school activities, student clubs, and volunteer opportunities - so you get the most out of your high school experience.
Student Outings and Activities
At TAIE we have acknowledged the importance of the city as an extension of the classroom and with that in mind, we are happy to organise multiple after school activities a month from movie nights to museum expeditions. In class and beyond, activities are organised to enhance our student’s learning paths. At TAIE you are guaranteed one large excursion a month, our previous excursions include a trip to Niagara Falls, a camping weekend in Algonquin Park and a private maple syrup tour in Northern Ontario. A student account is created at registration, this account is used to pay for these activities and outings and to ensure that every student has the option to take part.
Held several times a month
At TAIE we offer clubs, sports and activities based on our current student population’s interests. Currently, we have a variety of clubs available that range from arts to athletics.
Current clubs offered:
Audio/Visual Club, Basketball Club, Chess Club, Communications Club, Dance Club, Drama Club, Marketing Club, Piano Club, Photography Club, Soccer Club, University Ambassadors.
*Students are encouraged to let our Activity Coordinator know if there is a club they'd like to have that we do not currently offer. We are always making adjustments to suit our current student's needs.
Held on a weekly basis
Even though students studying for an OSSD are required to complete 40 hours of community service (volunteering), TAIE encourages students to gain experience in their fields of interest, learn new skills and enhance their university profile and to increase their scholarship opportunities through volunteering. TAIE is proud to partner with many different companies that offer a wide variety of unique volunteering opportunities to TAIE students.
Our Activity Coordinator organizes one community activity per month, with the help of the Student Union. If you have any suggestions for future volunteer activities, please write it in the Student Union Voice Box at the front desk on the 2nd floor.
Held on a monthly basis
