“We Are So Proud of Him”

For Hakan’s mother and sister, watching him grow during his time in Canada has been an emotional experience.

In a recent family interview, both spoke warmly about the changes they have seen in him—not only as a student, but as a young person learning how to take responsibility for his own life.

His mother described the journey as a transition from childhood into a more mature stage of life. His sister’s message was simple: she is proud of him.

For the family, graduation is not just a celebration of academic achievement. It is a moment to recognize how much Hakan has changed along the way.

Learning to Stand on His Own

Coming to Canada gave Hakan the chance to experience a different kind of independence.

Away from home, students learn how to manage their time, adapt to new routines, make decisions, and take ownership of their responsibilities. For Hakan’s family, one of the biggest changes they noticed was the way he began to handle things more maturely.

He was no longer simply following a routine set by others. He was learning how to organize his own life, take care of his studies, and approach challenges with a stronger sense of responsibility.

These changes may not always be dramatic, but for parents, they are often the ones that matter most.

Finding His Place Among New People

Hakan’s growth was not limited to academics or daily routines.

His family also saw him become more comfortable connecting with people around him. Through school life, activities, and time spent with classmates, he had opportunities to meet students from different backgrounds and build new friendships.

For an international student, that sense of connection can make a real difference. It helps turn a new country into a place where students can feel more comfortable, more confident, and more like themselves.

The moments shown in the video—spending time outdoors, talking with friends, and taking part in school life—reflect an important part of Hakan’s experience: learning does not only happen in class.

The Growth Families Notice First

Parents often notice the small changes before anyone else does. They notice when their child starts making decisions with more confidence. They notice when they become more open, more responsible, or more willing to try something new. They notice when a young person begins to see themselves differently.

For Hakan’s mother and sister, these are the changes that made them proud. His time at TAIE has been part of a much bigger journey—one that has helped him grow not only as a learner, but also as a more independent and confident young adult.

A Message of Love and Pride

As Hakan moves forward, he carries more than the memories of his school years. He carries the confidence he has built, the relationships he has formed, and the support of a family that has watched him grow every step of the way.

His mother and sister’s message is a reminder that behind every student’s achievement, there are often people cheering quietly from home.

And for Hakan, their pride says it all.
