What’s the best way to break the ice at the start of a new semester? A little friendly competition, of course!
Last week, TAIE students and teachers took over the gym for an exciting game of dodgeball—and it quickly became much more than just a competition.
With flying balls, last-second dodges, plenty of laughter, and some very serious game faces, both teams gave it their all. Things got competitive pretty quickly, and in the end, our teachers came out on top with a 2:1 victory!
Starting a new semester can be exciting, especially for students who are beginning a new chapter in a new country. For many international students, settling into a new school and community is just as important as getting comfortable in the classroom. That’s why we believe education at TAIE goes beyond academics.
We create opportunities for students to connect with their classmates, make new friends, and build a sense of belonging from day one. Activities like dodgeball give everyone a chance to step away from their studies, have some fun, and get to know one another in a relaxed environment.
And our teachers aren’t just here to support students academically—they’re also happy to get involved, have a laugh, and show off their competitive side on the court!
Building Our TAIE Community
Events like this are a great reminder that a strong school community is built through shared experiences. Whether students were playing on the court, cheering from the sidelines, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, everyone had a role in making the afternoon memorable.
Most importantly, the game gave our students and teachers the opportunity to connect outside the classroom and start the new semester on a positive note.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, and brought so much energy to the game!
Congratulations to our teachers on their 2:1 win—and welcome to the new semester!
Here’s to a semester filled with new friendships, new experiences, and plenty more moments to celebrate together.
