This month, we’re proud to spotlight Hajoo, a graduating student from South Korea who studied at TAIE from Grades 10 to 12.
Hajoo received six offers from five top Canadian universities, including:
University of Toronto — Forensic Science (CAD 100,000 Scholarship)
University of Toronto — Life Sciences (CAD 50,000 Scholarship)
Queen's University — Life Sciences
University of Ottawa — Biology (Co-op) (CAD 70,000 Scholarship)
McMaster University — Life Sciences Gateway
Western University — Medical Sciences
The Secret to Success
Hajoo credits her progress to consistent daily review, active class participation, and TAIE’s structured academic support. She highlighted TAIE’s Toronto LEAP Program — one of TAIE’s exclusive Background Improvement Courses — which strengthened her speaking and critical-thinking skills through structured discussion and communication practice, helping her applications stand out.
Hajoo also shared that she strengthened her academic profile through TAIE’s Science Extracurricular Program, gaining hands-on lab experience such as strawberry DNA extraction — an activity she later included in her personal statement to demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in science. She added that TAIE’s flexible, understanding-based learning environment gave her more time to reflect on her future, especially compared with the tight, memorization-heavy schedule she experienced in Korea.
Our Commitment
At TAIE, our Background Improvement Courses, University Pathways, and extracurricular programs are designed to strengthen university readiness and competitiveness. Through academic planning, course selection, application strategy, and one-on-one guidance, we support students every step of the way — so they can pursue the right-fit pathway with confidence.
