After a long Canadian winter, yesterday afternoon was the ultimate reward. The sun was finally out, the vibes were immaculate, and the TAIE campus welcomed the summer in the best way possible: with our annual student-teacher soccer match.
The energy on the pitch was high from the second the whistle blew. The teachers definitely brought their A-game (and a lot of strategic planning), but the students’ youthful speed was just too much to handle. After some brilliant passes, funny misses, and plenty of competitive banter, the students took home a very decisive 4-1 win. Bragging rights in the classrooms are officially locked in for the rest of the term.
But the absolute highlight of the day happened on the sidelines. Just when the game was heating up and everyone was starting to sweat, Principal Sara pulled off the ultimate surprise and had an ice cream truck roll right up to the field.
The sidelines instantly turned into a massive summer hangout. Everyone was basking in the sun, cooling down with soft-serve, and cheering on the players between bites of ice cream. It was just one of those perfectly relaxed, happy days where you couldn't help but smile, with the action on the pitch and the sweet treats on the sidelines coming together perfectly.
At TAIE, building a close-knit community is at the heart of everything we do, and days like yesterday prove exactly why our school spirit is so special. Seeing everyone—students, teachers, and staff—just chilling together, laughing, and enjoying the sunshine is what makes this place truly feel like home.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to play and cheer, and a special shoutout to Principal Sara for the sweet treats. Cheers to the start of an amazing summer!
